Read Across America 2010

Hello Larry,

     You should see what inspiration you created in my classroom yesterday.  During our writer's workshop, half the children spontaneously decided to work in teams of authors and illustrators without consulting me. They surprised me with the idea and production at the end of the day. 

     Today, the rest of the children loved the idea and again, spontaneously decided who their writer partner would be.  And without my direction, they took control.  It has been awesome. 

     Of course, it goes without saying that they sang "Dirty Dan" for the rest of the day yesterday and today.

Hi Larry,        

        I put Griffin to bed every night and Fragilly has become part of our bedtime routine.  He really loves the book and music.  Griff loves to listen to "Sam's Song'!  He has to hear it at least four times in a row before we can go on the the next! 

      We are really looking forward to your new CD!  If you need a test market, we are definitely your guys!

     I did want to tell you how impressed I was with your great talent as an entertainer, and your charming book "Fragilly." 
     The artwork was delightful and colorful.  The idea for the story was quite charming.  It is as an entertainer that you really shine.  So much energy and love for  children.

I enjoyed the book, and I’ll be reading it to my favorite 1st grade class on Wednesday. They will love the pictures, and I will tell them about puffins.
